Program Services Coordinator (Clinical), Learning Resources Program (St. John’s)

Summary:
Under the supervision of the Manager, the Program Services Coordinator (non-residential) delivers evidence-based programs, provides ongoing support to staff and oversees the delivery of programs with the fundamental objective of reducing the risk of re-offending.
Responsibilities:
- Delivers evidence-based programs either in a group and/or individual setting, in the community and institutions.
- Completes file reviews, assessments and reports as required.
- Provides mental health counselling to participants when required
- Provides guidance and ongoing clinical consultation support to staff team for purpose of fostering adherence to professional standards.
- Organization and management of program statistics/database including quarterly and annual statistics reporting
- Managing intake assessments and assigning participants to program facilitators
- Attends program related meetings.
- Maintains collaboration with John Howard Society programs and partner agencies for the purpose of case management, alternative program referral and client advocacy.
- Maintains accurate electronic and manual client records.
- Ensures staff are implementing current standards and best practices governing program integrity.
- Contributes to the orientation/training of staff/interns/volunteers.
- Contributes to an environment that fosters positive mental health for participants through ongoing assessment of program standards, program content, and utilization of a trauma informed and person centered approach
- Development and presentation of informational sessions to clients and community agencies.
- Engages in professional development as required.
- Ensures confidentiality guidelines are met regarding staff and client information.
- Shares responsibility for maintaining a safe, secure environment for both staff and clients.
- Assumes limited responsibility in the absence of the Manager, as required.
- Performs other related duties as required by the Manager.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Master’s Degree in Social Work or Psychology
- Eligibility for registration with a professional body (NLASW or CCPA)
- Knowledge of clinical practice and standards as per professional body
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience delivering cognitive/behavioural programming in both individual and group settings.
- Experienced and skilled in group engagement and facilitation
- Person centered and trauma informed approach
- Experience with and a demonstrated understanding of the offender population.
- Broad understanding of the criminal justice system.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Ability to be flexible, take initiative, work independently, and work collaboratively with a team
- Proven competency in computer software.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certificate of conduct.
- Enhanced reliability check as required.

Salary: $36.06 /hour as per collective agreement CUPE 4864; 35 hours per week.
